Bad Auditions by Bad Actors

September 9th, 2022, at the Community Actors’ Theatre

Directed by Artemis Valenti

A casting director has one day to find the leads for a community theatre production of Romeo and Juliet. But what seems like a simple task proves impossible when the pool of actors includes extreme method actors, performers who just don’t know what to do with their hands, and one particular woman who may or may not think she’s a cat. This hilarious comedy will bring you to the last place you’d ever want to be: behind the doors of a casting session.

Everyone Gets Eaten by Sharks

July 23rd, 2021, at Kate O Sessions Memorial Park

Directed by Artemis Valenti

FACT: Most people, if not everyone, will eventually be eaten by sharks. But you can postpone the inevitable (and get a great deal on a timeshare!) by joining Adventure Dan on a tour through shark-infested scenarios to avoid, such as kayaking with meat paddles, night-swimming after prom, or genetically engineering sharks for science. Because three things in life are certain: taxes, death, and specifically death by shark. A delightfully madcap comedy you’re sure to devour . . . unless it devours you first.

Stranded

July 3rd, 2020, through Zoom

Co-written and directed by Artemis Valenti

A monolgoue play about people quarantined on a cruise ship, written by Artemis Valenti, Adam Szymkowicz, Carrie McCrossen, Will Quam, Sonya Sobieski, Chris Barlow, Jacqueline Goldfinger, Jane Best, Jason Pizzarello, Emily McClain, Emily Hageman, Ian McWethy, Barry Weber, and Morgan Gould. This show visits passengers on a cruise-turned-lockdown during quarantine. As we are guided through the ship, we are introduced to thirteen different passengers, who explain how they are coping–or trying to cope–alone in their rooms. Funny, thoughtful, and certainly wacky, this show is not to be missed.

The Miraculous Six

August 11th, 2018, at the Community Actors’ Theatre

Written and directed by Artemis Valenti

A full-length musical written by our founder, this is the show that started it all! Its fun songs and fast pace make it a hit. When six friends are sent to Reform School by Nanny, they enter a world of sorrow and dismay. Ms. Garlic (whose name is definitely pronounced gar-LEEK) is a horrible headmistress and mean to the children at the school. But just when all is lost, the six friends do something miraculous that may just help them break the children out of the school and save the day. Full of catchy songs and snappy scenes, this show will keep you on the edge of your seat!
